2026 Topps Pristine Baseball Review: Box Math, SSPs and Team Hits
Pristine has been out since August 12. Three signed hits per box, encased cards and a 200-card Chrome base set. Here is what a box actually delivers, straight from the official checklist and odds sheet, plus where the real chase cards sit and which teams carry the hits.
Quick Verdict
Pristine sells two things: three guaranteed signed cards per box and the encased, pack-in-a-pack presentation. The odds sheet is honest about the rest. Around 85 percent of your autos will be base Pristine Autographs, and four out of five auto relics will be Pristine Pieces. The cards everyone posts, the Pristine Pair duals, the Rookie Jumbo patch autos and Rushmore, sit somewhere between one in 70 and one in 430 boxes.
So buy a box for three signed cards from a strong rookie class. Do not buy it for the chase cards. Those you buy as singles.

What a Box Really Delivers
Converted from the official odds. Base and insert odds are per regular pack, six per box. The hits come in encased packs, and Topps does not say how many a box holds. The published hit odds add up to exactly two autos and one auto relic at nine encased packs per box, so that is what we convert with.
| Card | Odds | Per box |
|---|---|---|
| Base Refractor | 1:1 | 6 |
| Paint the Corners Refractor (new) | 1:2 | 3 |
| Plated and Polished | 1:3 | 2 |
| Spotless | 1:3 | 2 |
| Pristine Wilderness | 1:4 | 1 to 2 |
| Numbered base parallel, any | about 2 | |
| Pristine Autographs, any version | 1.7 of your 2 autos | |
| Pristine Pieces Auto Relic, any version | 0.8 of your 1 auto relic |
The base rainbow runs Refractor, Paint the Corners, Aqua /199, Green /150, Purple /99, Blue /75, Gold /50, Orange /25, Pink /15, Primaries /10, Red /5 and Superfractor 1/1. A Gold /50 lands about once every five to six boxes, the Superfractor once every 270.

SSP Matrix
Everything rarer than 1 in 150 packs counts as SSP here. Topps itself calls Rushmore, Pristine Pops, Pearlescent and Timeless Connections short prints. Monogram and Amped fall in the same range.
| Set | Cards | Odds | Roughly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monogram | 30 | 1:217 | 1 in 6 cases |
| Pearlescent | 25 | 1:260 | 1 in 7 cases |
| Amped | 20 | 1:325 | 1 in 9 cases |
| Pristine Pops | 10 | 1:650 | 1 in 18 cases |
| Timeless Connections | 10 | 1:1,299 | 1 in 36 cases |
| Rushmore | 5 | 1:2,588 | 1 in 72 cases |
A case is six boxes. Rushmore puts four legends of one franchise on a single card: Yankees, Braves, Cubs, Mariners and Tigers.

Autographs and Auto Relics
| Set | Cards | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| Pristine Autographs | 86 | 1.7 per box |
| Spotless Signatures | 26 | 1 in 7 boxes |
| Italics Autographs | 17 | 1 in 12 boxes |
| Personal Endorsements Autographs | 31 | 1 in 45 boxes |
| Pristine Pair Dual Autographs | 9 | 1 in 140 boxes |
| Pristine Pieces Autograph Relics | 77 | 0.8 per box |
| Popular Demand Autograph Relics | 43 | 1 in 5 boxes |
| Rookie Jumbo Relic Autographs | 16 | 1 in 72 boxes |
Popular Demand is where the big names sign: Judge, Ohtani, Witt, Skenes, Jeter, Ripken, Pujols. One in five boxes is a realistic shot. Rookie Jumbo Relic Autographs are the patch cards with chunky multi-color pieces, 16 rookies, about one per twelve cases. The nine Pristine Pair duals include Jeter with Matsui, Sosa with Crow-Armstrong and Skenes with Chandler.

Team Hits for Breaks
Autograph and auto relic spots on the checklist per team. Dual autos count for both players.
| Team | Auto spots | Who carries it |
|---|---|---|
| New York Yankees | 23 | Jeter, Matsui, Schlittler RC, Chisholm, Fried |
| Boston Red Sox | 21 | Roman Anthony RC on six cards, Mayer RC, Garcia RC, Crochet |
| Los Angeles Dodgers | 18 | Ohtani, Sasaki, Freeman, Kershaw, Koufax, Freeland RC |
| New York Mets | 16 | Tong RC, McLean RC, Soto, Lindor, Piazza |
| Milwaukee Brewers | 15 | Misiorowski RC on six cards, Chourio, Yelich |
| Chicago Cubs | 14 | Caissie RC, Horton RC, Crow-Armstrong, Sosa |
| Kansas City Royals | 12 | Caglianone RC on seven cards, Witt, Brett |
| Pittsburgh Pirates | 11 | Skenes, Chandler RC, Griffin RC, McCutchen |
Kansas City has fewer spots than the Yankees, but the Royals slot is Caglianone and Witt, and that is the slot I would rather own. The thinnest teams are the Padres, Rangers and Marlins.
Who Should Buy
- Rookie auto collectors: yes. The rookie class runs through the auto checklist, and every box guarantees three signed cards.
- Rainbow chasers: yes. A 200-card base set and a clear twelve-step rainbow make this one of the more manageable Chrome rainbows.
- SSP and dual auto hunters: buy singles. Rushmore and the duals are multi-case cards.
- Breakers: Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Royals and Brewers carry the slots. Price the bottom third accordingly.
Buy the card because you want it, not because everyone else does.
